Recycled Glass - Tumblers - Blessings |
|
As the season nears, whatever the individual interpretation means to you, this 'Blessing' tumbler celebrates all of that which contributes to well being.
The festive design carries the word 'Blessing' in three additional languages, Spanish (alivio), French (bénédiction) and Afrikaans or South African (geseend).
Made from ordinary bottles that were headed toward the landfill, the glass is transformed into stylish, unique goblets and tumblers.
The transformation begins when our supplier receives bottles from recyclers all over North America, The bottles are washed and sterilized. The bottle is separated into two components; 'head' & 'base' . The 'head' (upper portion of the bottle) and 'base' (lower portion of the bottle) are smoothed, and then fire polished. The base becomes a tumbler, such as this item. The neck is then heated, twisted to close it off and finally the original mouth of the bottle is 'flared' to form the new foot of the glass. The newly formed tumblers and goblet s (we sell lots of these too) then travel through an annealing (tempering) oven to remove all residual stress in the glass.
Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for your products to arrive, as they are made to order.
