Compostable Cold Cups - Fabrikal
Compostable Cold Cups - Fabrikal

Unbelievable but true, clear plastic cups are now made from vegetables. In this case, these bioplastic cold cups are made from corn! Rather than using a petroleum-based cup that has a one-time use, how about providing your beverages in a container that's as biodegradable as the drink itself?

These cups are PLA, or polylactic acid, a cornstarch bioplastic. PLA is made of glucose from agricultural crops such as corn and potatoes. Products made from PLA are fully biodegradable and compostable. You can treat them the same as a plastic cup, except if you burn them they don't release carcinogens. They actually smell like marshmallows.

They're biodegradable and compostable, vegan and non-oil-economy-based, meeting ASTM 6400 D 99 and Executive Order 13101 requirements for compostability! Just plough them under, or throw them in your compost bin! Under good composting conditions, microbes will eat them up in a matter of months.

American Style cups are slightly thicker and less tall than Asia Style cups. Optional flat lids!

Note: 16 oz. cups hold 18 oz. to the brim; 12 oz. hold 14 oz. to the brim.

Features:
  • 100% USA grown corn
  • Completely compostable under commercial composting conditions in 45-60 days
  • Heat stable to 110 degrees (Hotter than that, or even left in the hot sun, and they will sort of "melt")
  • This product is FDA approved for food contact
