The sateen finish derives from the way the threads are woven and pushed together: one side of the cotton fabric has a slight sheen to it. Not shiny, but these elegant medium weight robes offer a lovely patina that one typically doesn't see in organic fabrics. It has a nice ribbed sash and two practical pockets.
