Earth Day Events 2018 - Remind, Reflect, Reactivate

Having a day to remind you of your daily awareness toward the environment and its future is a day to also look within. This Earth Day, Sunday, April 22nd, 2018, reflect upon what the earth really means to you and if you can do more to tilt the scale in favor of sustainable living. Then, reactivate your activist chops to stand up for what’s right when you see it is wronged and educate everyone and anyone to the alarm of nature dying. If you don’t have activist chops then this is the most opportune time to light your own fire of non-conformity and outcry.

The Rise of Earth Heroes

In 1970 many long haired activists, bespectacled college professors, scientists, and one brave senator had had enough of blatant industrial pollution. These Eco-pioneers started the first Earth Day with Senator Gaylord Nelson at the helm, not only naming the day but bringing legislative change. After witnessing factories legally spew black smoke into the air and dump tons of waste into waterways Senator Nelson got Congress to finally create a new federal agency tasked with cleaning up and controlling environmental threats. This agency that Earth Day spawned is called the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
