Bioneers Challenge Grant

A 2004 tax-deductible gift is still available and can still be doubled!

We're $19,885 away from meeting the matching requirement on a $90,000 challenge grant for new donors, including Bioneers members making contributions above their regular fees. When we've collected $90,000 from new donors, we'll get another $90,000 in a grant, and this will put us very close to balancing the year's budget.

Our heartfelt thanks to all who have given to this campaign. If so moved, you can increase your gift now and it will still count toward our goal! To give, click on the link.

Food and Farming Mixer

"In a nutshell, what I have to share is that by making sacred and special the humble, domestic, day-to-day aspects of home life, we become the most powerful agents of change we can possibly be.

Part of this theory involves the idea that we must stop waiting for the revolution, and recognize that in small but crucial ways, the Bioneers era has already begun - it's right there in our own homes. And so our job is to find, focus on, nurture and grow those places where things already are the way we want the rest of the world to be.

As the founder of one of the most comprehensive on line resources for greening your home, greenhome.com, I am on a mission to green the world, one home at a time. Before Green Home, there was no easy place for people to find environmentally friendly products all under one roof, and more importantly, the idea that the home could be the fulcrum for worldwide social change was not much in the public discourse.

Since our beginning in 1998, we've grown to become one of the most trusted on line suppliers of environmentally friendly products. We are the only green store that has a Product Approval Policy, which we developed in partnership with Scientific Certification Systems of Oakland. You can read all about it on our Web site here. There's also an article on our policy here in Green Money Journal."

New! Bioneers Homing Program

It is no wonder that more and more people want to share Bioneers with their local communities! Last year alone, Bioneers received over 100 inquires to become partners in our Beaming Bioneers program. Since the last conference, countless "homing" activities have sprung up spontaneously in delightful and unexpected ways. Those activities range from Bioneers book signings and book clubs, video salons and study circles, to the development of Bioneers curricula and production of local conferences. If you would like more information on the Homing Program and how to get your community connected to Bioneers contact members@bioneers.org.

"The work Tom Linzey is doing to challenge corporate rule is at the absolute cutting edge of pro-democracy work in the world today. Every engaged citizen needs to learn these brilliant ideas and highly practical tools, and apply them locally as well as nationally. Tom's plenary presentation at the 2004 Bioneers conference was a show-stopper and will soon be available on DVD from Bioneers. I plan to attend this workshop myself, and I hope other New Mexicans will join me in applying these crucial tools to restore democracy and protect our environment and way of life here in the Land of Enchantment."

Santa Fe Watershed

Harrison exhibition at the Santa Fe Art Institute.

December 11, 2004 - January 22, 05

For more than 30 years, artists Helen and Newton Harrison have created major works throughout the world that address the relationship between art and ecology. Santa Fe Watershed: Lessons from the Genius of Place is a collaborative project, instigated by the Santa Fe Art Institute, which portrays the dire conditions of the Santa Fe River, and proposes a self-renewing process that involves history, community engagement, public facilities, and a vibrant new life for the river. The HarrisonsŐ work uses audio, visual, mechanical, and biological materials to create a narrative about place and its ecological and social realities.

More information is available on sfai's website:

"In order to restore the flow of water. It is first necessary to heal the earth."
